Alligator Hunting in Florida for Ladies Hi. My name is Lisa and I always wanted to hunt alligators. As a kid growing up I asked my dad to take me. He thought that was crazy so I never got to go. As I grew older my desire to go alligator hunting in Florida grew as well. With my dad’s consent when I turned 18 we gave a call to Larry at Razor Ranch in South West Florida. He explained to us what I could expect and that was too expect the unexpected when it comes down to hunting alligators. I booked a gator hunt at the ranch and was soon on my way. Once I arrived I was pleased with the accommodations and the ranch itself. We went on a night hunt scouting for the biggest gator we could find. It did not take long. This place was loaded with huge alligators. I could feel my heart pumping as a very large gator approached us. It was heading straight for us and frankly I was scared as all get up. My guide eased my nerves because I knew I was not in this alone. He tossed out a huge treble hook and snagged the gator and started to get it closer to the boat. For a brief moment I felt like I was Liz on the TV show Swamp People. My guide showed me how to try to bring the gator in closer for a shot. Pulling the alligator in was a lot harder than it looks on TV. My guide took over and told me to get ready for the shot. My first shot missed the mark and you could see that the gator was pissed off. When he got close enough and finally slowed his roll I took my second shot. This time my aim was spot on. We both grabbed the alligator and pulled it to the boat. What a rush. My first ever alligator hunt in Florida was a success. I cannot thank the folks at the ranch enough for my 13 foot beast. I can hardly wait until I get to do this again.
